Strategic Marketing and Communications for the
Drinking Water Solutions Division
I successfully designed and executed comprehensive annual strategic communication plans, positioning the organization as a leader in PFAS removal/destruction, DBP reduction, and elimination of other water quality contaminants. My marketing/communications initiatives included the development of a highly visible webinar series and the creation of globally utilized cross-departmental resources such as case studies, brochures, white papers, and product data sheets. By integrating thought leadership into marketing and communication strategies, I enhanced organizational reputation and industry visibility.
I also led cross-functional marketing initiatives, including graphic design, email marketing, and multi-channel campaigns, while managing critical business functions such as advertising, memberships, conferences, and demand/lead generation. Beyond tactical execution, I delivered actionable business insights, driving divisional growth and visibility through innovative approaches to business strategy and communications.
Creating a Brand Identity
In my role as Marketing Director at AWK Consulting Engineers, Inc., I spearheaded a rebranding initiative that resulted in a 52% increase in LinkedIn followers within six months. By creating essential tools like a website roadmap and marketing plan, I streamlined operations and ensured strategic alignment. Additionally, I led a successful national recruitment campaign, onboarding top team members to enhance our capabilities and support business growth.
I led the rebrand and relaunch of a nonprofit transitioning into a membership organization, crafting its new brand identity, messaging, and visual design. This transformation was unveiled at a national conference in Chicago, IL, attended by over 3,000 participants—the highest turnout in the organization's 33-year history. I managed social media across eight platforms, implemented marketing automation tools, and delivered data-driven website and social media analytics. My work included integrated marketing strategies, digital campaigns, and all PR content, such as magazine inserts, press releases, and media interviews. Additionally, I developed an organizational sustainability program to support long-term growth and impact.
Non-Profit Riverfront Trail Development
In my role as Marketing and Development Manager at Friends Of The Riverfront, I spearheaded digital campaigns that led to a 20% increase in revenue for the annual giving program. Additionally, I organized and marketed 40 volunteer events each year to enhance community engagement and support. I was also responsible for managing content creation across social media, press releases, and newsletters.
Project Management to Establish an Early Warning Detection System on Pittsburgh’s Rivers
I spearheaded the creation of an Early Warning Detection System in collaboration with the PA Department of Environmental Protection to deliver real-time water quality data for the Ohio River Basin, making vital information accessible to the public. Through successful fundraising efforts, I secured over $500,000 in public and private funding, expanding the network from seven water quality monitoring sites to 42 sites across five additional rivers, spanning multiple states.
I united 42 municipal public water suppliers, academic institutions, government agencies, and community stakeholders to support and actively participate in the program. As the project management lead, I oversaw all branding and marketing efforts, including mapping, logo development, website creation, and social media outreach. Additionally, I partnered with Carnegie Mellon University’s robotics department to establish an advanced remote water quality monitoring station, further enhancing the program's technological capabilities.
